Once temperatures climb above 50°F, your pond needs a proper start to the season. We pump down and clean the pond basin, pressure-wash rocks and waterfalls, inspect liners and skimmers for winter damage, restart and prime the pump, treat the water with beneficial bacteria, and reintroduce fish safely. A clean spring start prevents algae blooms, protects fish, and sets the tone for the rest of the season.
Through summer and early fall, we offer scheduled maintenance visits to keep your pond running its best. A typical visit covers debris and leaf removal, filter cleaning, water testing and treatment, plant trimming and division, fish health checks, and pump and aeration inspection. Most clients book monthly or bi-monthly visits — we’ll recommend a cadence based on your pond’s size, fish load, and surrounding tree cover.
Northeast Ohio winters are hard on ponds. Each fall we net out leaves and debris, trim back aquatic plants, drain or relocate sensitive equipment, install pond netting if needed, and either shut down the system or set up a winter aerator to keep a hole open in the ice for fish. How often does my pond need professional maintenance?
Most backyard ponds benefit from a spring opening, a fall cleanup, and 4–8 monthly visits in between, depending on size and tree cover.
Do you handle pond repairs and liner replacement?
Yes. We patch tears, replace liners, fix leaking waterfalls, and repair or upgrade pumps, skimmers, and lighting.
Will you take care of the fish during a cleaning?
Absolutely. Our crew safely nets and holds your fish in aerated containers while we drain and clean the pond, then reintroduces them once water chemistry is stable.
Do you build new ponds?
Yes — we design and install custom water features from small disappearing fountains to large koi ponds with waterfalls and bog filtration.
